She shares "how it all started."

My mom used to make a beautiful edible chocolate box during the holidays to place at our Christmas Eve celebration dinner and also to give as a hostess gifts. 

The reaction she received from the person that was lucky enough to get one was always amazing!They couldn’t believe it was actually chocolate!  As a family, we were always so impressed with it and looked forward to them every year. 

As time went on she just didn’t have time to make the chocolate boxes anymore. I found the chocolate box mold at her garage sale but I wouldn’t let her sell it! It had a lot of sentimental meaning to me!  I took it home with me to Virginia and began using it during the holidays to continue the tradition. The beautiful, handmade chocolate boxes elicited the same reactions my Mom's always did during my childhood. 

I have continued to make them at my home here in Indiana. This time, my friends couldn’t believe I wasn’t doing this as a business.  I am a stay at home Mom and was really looking for an outlet. With a little encouragement, I decided to open Cherished Chocolates as a business so that I could share this family tradition with other people. I have found this is a product that people get very excited about, people love chocolate and with a little creative presentation and forethought about the person and the occasion, it just makes it that much more special.

I am so proud to offer these products and the ironic part is...I guess you could say this is all due to my Mom and her "cherished" chocolate molds!
